25-26 Test Prep Opportunity

Workbooks can be ordered starting September 2

For the 25-26 school year, students may choose to participate in test prep using the Spectrum Test Practice Workbook (at no cost of planning amounts to the student) or complete the Math AND ELA CAASPP Skills plans in iXL.

If a student completes 80% of the workbook or 80% of each the Math and ELA iXL Skills Plans before state testing begins (March 16) and they complete all required CAASPP assessments, they will get to choose an additional educational opportunity (approved by the board in December 2025):

  • San Diego Zoo/Safari Park Annual Membership
    • Annual Student Membership
  • Balboa Park Explorer Annual Pass
    • Student Membership for 1 student completing the challenge or Family Membership for 2+ students completing the challenge
  • SeaWorld Fun Card
    • Student Fun Card
  • Living Coast Discovery Center Annual Pass
    • Household Membership is the most basic membership available
  • The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens
    • Family Membership is the most basic option
  • Discovery Cube
    • Dual Membership for 1 student completing the challenge or a Family Membership for 2+ students completing the challenge

Test Practice Workbook (Ordering begins September 2)
  • Requested by the HST through the Homeschool Hub (Directions here)
  • No cost of planning amounts to families
  • Must be 80% completed by March 14th to qualify for additional educational opportunity
  • Does NOT need to be corrected by the HST, but checked for 80% completion by March 13th

iXL Skills Plans

  • Assigned by teacher through iXL (Directions here)
  • Student must complete 80% of each the Math AND ELA skills plans for their assigned grade level by March 14th to qualify for additional educational opportunity


For students who take the CAA, the following is their option for test prep:

  • Parent or learning coach should log into the CAA Practice Portal (Directions here)
  • Spend at least 10 5-minute sessions in each subject, ELA and Math
  • Use a variety of questions (the parent/learning coach may need to skip through the first few to pick up where they left off; there is no way to save progress on a practice test)
  • Track Practice Portal time the CAA Test Prep Log

For those students who are taking the CAA and would like to participate, be sure to share with them a copy of the Test Prep Log. You will collect that log by March 14th to count for completion of test prep.
