SST Members

The Student Success Team (SST) may consist of a combination of any of the following members:

  • Learning Coach and/or Parent
  • Homeschool Teacher
  • Student Support Advisor
  • Intervention Teacher
  • Speech Language Pathologist
  • Mental Health Professional
  • Program Coordinator
  • Other providers as appropriate

SST Process: Referrals

Moving to the SST process will be considered after a student has engaged consistently in the Tier 2 intervention recommendations for the designated amount of time, yet still has difficulty making meaningful progress. The Student Support Advisor or Speech Language Pathologist will take the lead on making this recommendation.

SST Process: Initial SST Meetings

The Initial SST Meeting process will be led by the Student Support Advisor or Speech Language Pathologist. SST forms will be completed via Educlimber. As a part of developing this form, the Student Support Advisor or Speech Language Pathologist will add the HST to the sections that require their input. The Student Support Advisor will also reach out to the parent to gather their input on their student's strengths, health and development, and the concerns that they have at that time.

During the Initial SST meeting, the Student Support Advisor or Speech Language Pathologist will recommend learning objectives for the student to achieve in the areas where the available data demonstrates concerns. New recommendations for interventions to support the student's progress will also be made. The team will establish a period of time during which the student should engage in these interventions before reviewing progress.

SST Process: Follow-Up SST Meetings

After the Initial SST meeting, the Support Support Advisor or Speech Language Pathologist and HST will continue to work together to monitor student progress and provide support as needed. The team will come back together at the end of the intervention period to review progress toward learning objectives and determine next steps. The HST may be added to the Follow-Up SST form in Educlimber to give updated input. The parent will also be asked to provide updated information.

During the Follow-Up SST meeting, recommendations may include additional time spent in Tier 3 interventions or movement back to Tier 2. New learning objectives will be established and the team will again establish a period of time for the intervention to occur at which time another follow-up SST meeting will be held. If the team determines the interventions are not enough to support the student’s needs, the SST Team may refer the student for a SPED Evaluation. If this is the case, the Student Support Advisor or Speech Language Pathologist will provide the parent with an Assessment Plan within 15 days.
