The Student Affairs Department handles parent/student custody, restraining orders, foster youth, student behavior concerns, and reduced schedule requests, and provides educational continuity support and educational programming coordination for students experiencing a variety of concerns and challenges including the following:

  • A student/family experiencing a traumatic event such as an assault or accident
  • A student/family experiencing significant loss such as the death of a loved one
  • A student/family experiencing hospitalization or a serious illness or injury
  • A student/family being placed in a facility (5150 or Correctional)
  • A student who runs away from home or goes missing
  • A family experiencing a difficult custody/legal guardianship dispute
