20.1.7 ELAS Corrections

Teachers, if you've tested a student with an initial ELPAC and they were designated EL but, based on evidence and observation, you and the parent feel that they are proficient in English, you can request a review for status correction to IFEP (Initially Fluent English Proficient).
- Only one status correction may be made in a student’s school career.
- This is a review process; it is not guaranteed that the status change will be approved.
- Please start by reading the English Language Acquisition Status (ELAS) Correction Information Sheet, then proceed with the PowerPoint and survey, if you choose to initiate the process.
- This request must be fulfilled prior to the first Summative ELPAC test session
