Receiving Tier 3 Academic Support

Students are invited to participate in Reading Lab and Math Lab classes based on recommendations made during SST meetings when Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports have not been enough to support the student in making meaningful progress. When a Reading Lab or Math Lab class is recommended as a part of an SST meeting, the Student Support Advisor will provide the necessary class schedule information and Zoom link to the Learning Coach, as well as the cycle start date. A Parent Orientation meeting will be held the week before the cycle begins in order to provide additional information regarding class content and expectations. The HST will be included in all communications.

Learning objectives for Reading Lab and Math Lab classes are established during SST meetings. Each week Intervention Teachers will monitor student progress toward these objectives. Attendance and progress will by reported in Educlimber. At the end of the intervention period, a follow-up SST meeting will be held and new recommendations will be made.
