TK-8 Tier 1 Academic Support

  • Click here for a detailed outline of Tier 1 Academic Support

Please refer to the Section 33.0 of the Homeschool Teacher Handbook for further information

Always Keep In Mind

  • Tier 1 Academic Support should always continue to be in place while a student participates in Tier 2 or Tier 3.
  • If concerns from Tier 1 Academic Support arise while a student is participating in Tier 2 or Tier 3, the Non-compliance Process should still be initiated.
  • Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions are not designed for students who already have active IEPs as the services, supports and accommodations that are a part of their educational programming are more specifically designed to foster their growth and progress and tailored to meet their individual needs.
  • Students with an active 504 Plan may begin to demonstrate the need for Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions in which case the Student Support Advisor assigned should be contacted given that 504 Plan does not include the same types of services and supports that an IEP would.
