Report Card Instructions TK-8
Report Card Parent Letters: TK-8
Please remember the following when creating a report card for a student:
- We must generate a report card for any student who has claimed any attendance (even 1 day)
- A report card must be generated for all enrolled students during each grading period
- It is not necessary to wait until our attendance is claimed before printing report cards. Attendance will not show on report cards.
- If you are giving a BE or AR grade, a comment as to why the student is receiving that grade will need to be given in the comment box.
- Report cards do not require a teacher signature
- Teachers are responsible for sending report cards to their students (via snail mail/password protected email or family shared google folder)
- If we are officially in Semester 2, when completing your report cards, it automatically filters to Semester 2. Please see FAQ on how to change it.
For SPED students, we are grading off of grade level I -CAN statements (unless otherwise indicated in their IEP). We are not grading off of effort, or grading SPED goals. For some, this is challenging as oftentimes SPED students are working hard, and yet still not meeting grade level standards.
- An example of a comment that can be made on a student that received BE marks on their report card was "While students are not meeting grade level standards, they continue to make forward progress toward their academic goals". Also remember NOT to mention the IEP or SPED in the comments.
For ELD students, TK-5 will still have the ELD course listed on the report card in pathways. However, once that report card is finalized and printed, it will not show up, therefore you can continue on with those TK-5 report cards in spite of the ELD course showing up.
