STUDENT EMAILS - Pacific Coast Academy

All student school emails can be found in their Pathways’ profile. For newly enrolled students in the 24-25 school year (and for the future), there has been a change to the format of student emails.

Continuing Students - Email format: [first name initial][last name initial][District ID]@[school].org

New Students - Email format: [District ID]@school.org

All students have a school Google account through Pacific Coast Academy. These accounts allow the Tech Department to do the following:
  • Manage school devices, assigning licenses for software, etc.

NEW STUDENTS - PASSWORDS

Do you have any new students who are enrolled for the first time this year and need to login to their school email and/or Microsoft/Azure? Please have them use the following standard password format to login to their school email account for the first time:

Password format: [First initial of First Name - upper case][Last Name - title case]-[DOB as MMYY][Grade, TK/KN/1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10/11/12]

Examples:

  • Name: Student Tester | DOB: Jan 2017 | Grade: TK ⇨ Password: STester-0117TK
  • Name: Joe Smith | DOB: Oct 2015 | Grade: 3 ⇨ Password: JSmith-10153
  • Name: John Doe | DOB: Feb 2013 | Grade: 5 ⇨ Password: JDoe-02135
  • Name: Super Mario | DOB: Apr 2008 | Grade: 10 ⇨ Password: SMario-040810
  • Name: Princess Peach | DOB: Nov 2010 | Grade: 8 ⇨ Password: PPeach-11108

**Students will be required to change their password upon first login.

CONTINUING STUDENTS - PASSWORD RESET

Do you have any continuing students who can’t remember their Google and/or Microsoft/Azure password? The primary parent’s email (from Pathways) has been setup as the recovery email for student accounts.

Google Password is used for:

  • School email
  • Chromebook login
  • MacBook laptop login
  • OSP subscriptions

Microsoft/Azure Password is used for:

  • Office 365
  • Windows laptop login
  • Zoom authentication (some classes)
  • Minecraft for Education

A few FAQs:

    • Grades TK-8 have accounts that are created solely for educational purposes. For students under the age of 13, it is strictly only with parent/guardian consent that a student may access their school email account through sharing the login information with the student.
    • Grades 9-12 have access to their school Google accounts. If new credentials are needed or the family has not yet received the login credentials please ask families to submit a tech support request at http://techhelp.pacificcoastacademy.org/ or by calling 619-782-6464 and choosing Option 5 for Tech
Users of these accounts must abide by the guidelines in the Technology AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) outlined in the Parent & Student Handbook.
