Pacific Coast Academy

The California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA) of 2016 was extended to charter schools in 2018 (AB 2601). CHYA requires that all California public schools provide comprehensive sexual health and HIV prevention education to students at least once in middle school and once in high school. Pacific Coast Academy offers the Rights, Respect, Responsibility (3Rs) curriculum to all 8th- and 9th-grade students.

- Please send to families of all 8th- and 9th-grade students by Friday, October 17th, 2025.

- Continue sending the notice as new 8th- and 9th-grade students enroll on your roster.
- Resend to participating families (those for whom you do not have an opt-out letter) by December 12th, 2025.
- Send one last reminder the week before office hours begin:
- February 12th for Grade 9
- April 13th for Grade 8
- Please send to families of all 8th- and 9th-grade students by Friday, October 17th, 2025.

- October 17th, 2025: Send the CHYA Parent Notification to all families of 8th- and 9th-grade students
